Odradek
An exhibition tracing urban voids through a strategy of occupying the ugly.
Using Kafka's Odradek as a clue, the exhibition revealed voids and useless places outside capital's order as spaces for art-action.
Project Overview
<Bad breath> parodies spaces occupied by capital and functionality, realizing a strategy of 'occupying the ugly' through three detection tools placed inside and outside the exhibition.
Approach
Through a hanging pumpkin, a private pumpkin shower video, and a chromakey acrylic wall with a headset, viewers trace Odradek's path. Rather than reproducing a finished form, the work preserves the process of tracking as an art-action that cracks capitalist order.
